During this initial consultation, Dr. Perry will gather a thorough medical history and describe every aspect of the Rhinoplasty<\/strong>, including anesthesia, where the surgery will be performed and the procedure\u2019s costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You will find Dr. Perry\u2019s treatment prices to be competitive with those of other cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons. Some surgeries are partially or fully covered by health insurance. For example, your insurance may cover surgery that improves or corrects nasal function; however, purely \u201ccosmetic\u201d procedures are generally not covered. Dr. Perry\u2019s staff will work with your insurance company to determine what\u2019s covered by your particular plan.<\/p>\n\n\n During your surgery, Dr. Perry makes incisions to access the nose\u2019s bone and cartilage support system. Most of these incisions are made inside the nose, where they cannot be seen. In some cases, he\u2019ll make an incision in the area of skin that separates the nostrils. Next, certain areas of the underlying bone and cartilage are added to, removed or repositioned to create a newly shaped structure. Dr. Perry then re-drapes the external skin and tissues over this new structure and closes the incisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the end of the operation, a cast is applied to the outside of the nose for protection and splints are placed inside the nose to help it retain its new shape during healing. The nasal cast and splints remain in place for one week. To ensure optimal comfort during recuperation, Dr. Perry does not use nasal packing (absorbent material placed inside the nose to stop bleeding) during the healing process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Perry performs all nasal surgeries with the assistance of a board-certified anesthesiologist and a nurse anesthetist.
